Join us to read and discuss Maya Angelou’s debut memoir, considered a modern American classic beloved worldwide.

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings is as joyous and painful, as mysterious and memorable, as childhood itself. The book captures the longing of lonely children, the brute insult of bigotry, and the wonder of words that can make the world right.

Discussion moderated by Andrea Rogers and Alexis Rogers.

Books are available at the Bedford Hills Library, ready for check out.

In partnership with the Antioch Baptist Church, Bedford Hills.

Free to Read, is an ongoing book discussion series presented by Antioch Baptist Church and the Bedford Hills Free Library, launched in response to increased efforts to target or restrict access to books in libraries and schools. Our shared purpose is to
better understand complex issues, explore our personal response to challenged and banned books, develop empathy for others, and discover our own way to protect everyone's freedom to read.
