Kickoff Event!
We will read fiction and nonfiction books that have been targeted for removal or restriction in libraries and schools. As we explore diverse voices and perspectives revealed in the literature, we will seek to better understand complex issues, develop empathy for others, and discover our own way to protect everyone's freedom to read.
Our first book for discussion, Black Birds in the Sky: The Story and Legacy of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, by Brandy Colbert, will be available from the Library.
