Little Folks & Friends
We embrace the boundless energy of toddlers and focus on stories, singing, and movement. Storytimes are centered on a theme to increase vocabulary and knowledge of a subject. Toddlers learn sounds, letter/number recognition, and language patterns while having fun with their caregivers and peers.
If you are new to Storytimes, please register to receive reminders and any schedule changes. Walk-ins are also welcome!
Rachel Izes is the coordinator of the Library's Early Literacy Program.
Little Owls
Children in Grades K-2 come together at the library for weekly art activities and thematic read alouds.
Laptime for Pipsqueaks
Laptime for Pipsqueaks
This storytime utilizes "lap bounces," fingerplays, songs, and picture books to underline the importance of talking, singing, and reading with babies. Puppets, shakers, and colorful scarves also engage our littlest patrons and encourage caregiver/child interaction.

Ready, Set, Kindergarten!
In this special four-week series, preschoolers entering Kindergarten next Fall and their guardians enjoy stories and activities specifically designed to enhance early learning skills and social/emotional development. Guardians receive tips and other library resources to prepare children for what to expect - and what’s expected of them - in Kindergarten.
Community Partnerships
The Library partners with Country Childrens Center and the Discovery Center in Bedford Hills as well as the Mount Kisco Childcare Center to introduce preschools to the Library. Regular group visits include storytimes, a craft project, and exploring the collection.
StoryWalk
The StoryWalk® Project combines early literacy and family engagement with fresh air and outdoor activity. Beautiful picture book pages are displayed on posts spaced on the path along Lake Marie at the Bedford Hills Memorial Park. Take a walk and enjoy a memorable literary experience!
Halloween
An annual event especially for babies to age 6, children meet at the Library dressed in costume for a trick or treat walk together to downtown businesses. Followed by not-so-scary Halloween stories at the Bedford Hills Train Station.
